Going through the archive of pics for the blog I came across a lot of my assistant and digi operator together. Tobias and Duncan worked together with me for about two years. We had some good times in a lot of places, Tane has taken Tobias' place now and is along for the ride. I'm sure there will be enough pics soon to do an update!

Fiji. Checking out the view from the only spot on the island that our phones got reception!

Last light of the first day of the location search on Santorini.

Researching the water temperature in Thailand.

On the other side of Santorini.

These were shot in the morning while I was waiting for the hair and make up to be finished off. Looking at the height of the sun, I was probably pacing up and down the poolside looking at my watch as I would have liked to be shooting!

I've spent a bit of time over in the States the last couple of months. Mainly in LA and Palm Springs with one trip to the east coast. Most of the new stuff is from these trips. The other new images are from the new Rae Morris, Express Make Up Book. I especially love the black and white one of Georgia Fowler.
Check it all out here.
Here's a pic we shot at the end of the day as the sun was setting. We had finished the shoot we were there for so we just made the most of the magic light at the location until it set. We shot Melissa Haro from Wilhelmina's.

It was an amzing location with props galore!

Tane and Lotta holding the fort.

Melissa cooling off in the airconditioned relief area while we went over the images we had just shot. It was HOT that day, 44C plus, that's over 110 Fahrenheit. Dry desert air with hardly a breeze.

This was shot out the front of the Flagship Apple Store in NYC on my trusty Ricoh GRII.
Here's a sneak preview of the second book I recently shot with Rae Morris. We learnt a lot from shooting the first one so it made this one a breeze in comparison. This time round we knew what to expect, how looooong it would take and the military scheduling necessary!
The main difference for me was not having to retouch 95% of the book! Grace Testa kindly helped out on this book.
It hits the stands Oct/Nov!

The beautiful and very patient Georgia Fowler. This make up took ages to complete, even with two assistants helping Rae - all working on it at the same time.

The Bladerunner Vista View Room.

Went to the China Club for lunch yesterday. It's in the old Bank of China building with an amazing contemporary Chinese art collection hanging on the walls. Beautiful interiors transport you back to old Shanghai.

I'm shooting in Hong Kong at the moment and we are staying at The Upper House. Definitely my new favourite hotel.

Here's the delivery from The Impossible Project. Speedy three day delivery.

Here are a couple of pics of the polaroids an hour after I shot them. Colour shifts and bubbling on the emulsion under the protective layer began to change the image. I was going to take them home and scan them on my flat bed but when I saw the changes happening on the first couple of practice ones I decided to copy them with my little S90 before they changed too much.
I have ordered some more pack film to continue this series from the IMPOSSIBLE PROJECT. This is a great resource for any polaroid action you could want! Film, Cameras etc. It's bascially a group of die hard Polaroid fans and scientists bringing back the magic for another generation.

This movie was shot during a shoot for an exhibition paying homage to Helmut Newton. Several photographers were asked to shoot a picture in the vein of Newton's work. The pictures appeared in Oyster Magazine as well as the exhibition. Luke Farquhar shot the movie on Super 8. Jessica Davidson is the croc wrangler.
Here's the finished product!

The only place that has surpassed all expectation of natural beauty is Queenstown. It is truly stunning. Drifting through the mountains on descent to the airport is unforgettable.
